Arts at Christ Church, Brockton, presents the classic fairy tale set to music, “Peter and the Wolf,” on Sunday, October 2 at 1 pm. Co-sponsored by the Southeastern MA chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the concert will be performed by Nicole Marane, pipe organ; Daniel Alves, percussion; and Brockton High School’s own Matt Cunningham, as narrator.  The program is also supported by the Brockton, Easton and Stoughton Cultural Councils.

Ms. Marane is Director of Music at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, and arranged the Prokofiev piece for organ. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts (Performance and Literature – Organ) from the Eastman School of Music.  Mr. Alves is currently studying Music Education at Bridgewater State University and has performed with the Brockton Symphony Orchestra and the Randolph Community Band. Mr. Cunningham is the Choral Director at Brockton High School and during the 2022-2023 academic year, is also serving as Visiting Assistant Professor and Choral Director at Wheaton College.

Before the concert, attendees will have the opportunity to help assemble an “OrgelKids” working model pipe organ.

The free concert runs about 1 hour in length and is suitable for children 4 and up; nursery care is available for infants through 4 years of age. Following the concert, Rose Conservatory will offer baked goods for sale in the church Fellowship Hall. Beverages will be provided.
