Jacmel Art Revitalization Project

The Earthquake that devastated Port a Prince Haiti on January 12th 2010 deeply affected the Haitian community in its full international expression. The entire community was in mourning.  That response became The Jacmel Project, HAAM in partnership with Brockton Arts staging an initial series of artistic presentations showcasing the works of artists from Haiti as well as the work of artists from the local Haitian diaspora, that work relating to the earthquake and its effects. The intent of the Jacmel Project was to get the artists painting again, there were stories to be told, and to begin a small marketing initiative with that artwork to benefit the artistic community. The Jacmel Project has returned in excess of $20,000 to the artists and our partners in Jacmel and now supports an Arts Academy in Jacmel for children that engages and teaches 80 students. Stay tuned for upcoming projects and activities in 2023.
