On Tuesday, March 27th, Brockton Poetry Series welcomes featured poet David R Surette.

David R Surette’s new book of poetry is Malden.  He is the author of five other collections including Stable which was named an Honor Book at the 2016 Massachusetts Book Awards. His poems have been featured recently in 3 Nations Anthology: Native, Canadian & New England Writers  He teaches and coaches varsity hockey at East Bridgewater Junior High School. He lives on Cape Cod

Brockton Poetry Series featuring Kaili Wallin

On Tuesday, February 27th, Brockton Poetry Series features Kaili Wallin:

Kaili Wallin, better known as Kai, is a 19-year old small town poet.  The arts have been her outlet for years, including dance, singing, and writing.  Amidst a hectic work schedule, poetry has been an escape. She aspires to be voice amongst her favorite artists Sabrina Denaim, Neil Hilborn, and Shane Koyczan. Her poems are often about of love, getting older, and finding new ways to cope with the often bumpy roller coaster of life. She’s currently assembling a collection of her poems in hopes of punishing a book.

On Tuesday January 23rd, Brockton Poetry Series welcomes featured poet Rosann Kozlowski

Rosann Kozlowski is the recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Grant in Poetry.  Her poems have been published in anthologies and journals, including Spoon River Poetry ReviewSalamander, and the MidWest Quarterly.  Along with poetry, she writes creative nonfiction and plays.  Rosann has worked as a chemist, a middle school teacher, and college professor, and now happily owns a yoga studio in Massachusetts

On Tuesday, November 28th, Brockton Poetry Series Welcomes Jamaal Bonnette!


Jamaal Bonnette is an artist and poet from Brockton, Mass. He started writing and painting at a very young age, using creativity as an outlet. Inspired by poets such as Saul Williams and Common, his poetry tends to focus on love, hate, empathy, and the search for a spiritual connection. Jamaal has been writing since middle school but didn’t perform his work until his senior year and throughout college. With this chapbook “Shadows in Alleyways” book he opens up about emotional journeys through life and love.

Oct. 24: Brockton Poetry Series featuring Zvi A. Sesling

On Tuesday, October 24th Brockton Poetry Series welcomes Zvi A. Sesling!

Zvi A. Sesling is the Poet Laureate of Brookline, MA and a prize winning poet. He has been published widely in print and online nationally and internationally. Sesling is Editor of Muddy River Poetry Review, publishes Muddy River Books and reviews for the Boston Small Press and Poetry Scene. He is a past winner of the Reuben Rose International Poetry Competition and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Sesling has been a featured reader in various venues in the Boston and San Diego areas, as well as on Boston area cable television and radio stations. He is author of three volumes of poetry, The Lynching of Leo Frank (Big Table Publlishing Co., 2017), which is nominated for the 2017 National Jewish Book Award, Fire Tongue (Cervena Barva Press, 2016) and King of the Jungle, (Ibbetson St. Press, 2010 as well as two chapbooks Love Poems From Hell (Flutter Press, 2017) and Across Stones of Bad Dreams (Cervena Barva Press, 2011). He has taught at Suffolk University, Emerson College and Boston University. He lives in Brookline MA with his wife Susan J. Dechter.

Sept. 26th: Brockton Poetry Series featuring Anita D

On Tuesday, September 26th, Brockton Poetry Series features Anita D!

Anita D is a spoken word artist and slam poet born and raised in Brockton. After moving to San Diego in 2013 she began to treat poetry as more of a career and less of a hobby. She was a member of the 2016 San Diego Slam Team that went on to take second place at nationals. She has since featured at many open mic venues, colleges and universities across San Diego and Boston. She hosted workshops for high school students on both coasts. Most recently, she appeared at The Staples Center and performed during an WNBA game.
