October 14 is National Chess Day, and we’re calling all chess players and enthusiasts to come out and play on October 15! Join us for a whole day of strategy, intellect, and fun as Fuller Craft Museum hosts a tournament sponsored in part by the Massachusetts Chess Association (MACA) and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Enjoy 3 rounds of chess G/45, d5. The tournament will be officiated by Nicholas P. Sterling, Ph.D., NESA, USCF Chess Tournament Director. Come simply to observe or play to win! Everyone plays 3 rounds of chess. A prize will be awarded to the top player in each section. Registration for the afternoon (players and observers) is included in the price of admission. When you register online you may order a lunchbox from Panera Bread to be delivered at 12:30 pm the day of the tournament.

Please arrive at 9:00 am to check in/register. After the tournament do a little shopping at the IKEA just 10 minutes away.
That day will include:
9:00 – 9:45 am: Registration for tournament
9:00 – 11:00 am: A reception in the morning with coffee, tea, and muffins/doughnuts
10:00 am: Round 1 begins
10:00 am: The exhibition galleries open to visitors
5:00 pm: Museum closes
